Fabric Innovations are making their way to the Medical scrubs industry!
For a while, the big name brands just stuck to the basics. In the uniform
market, that means a 65/35% Poly Cotton blend fabric. It is still a very
popular fabric because it is functional and light weight. From Cherokee
Workwear to Dickies Everyday Scrubs, the standard poly/cotton blend has a huge
following and still makes up a huge percentage of the market. The benefits
are that these medical scrubs are stain resistant, wrinkle resistant and last a
long time. As scrubs have become more fashion oriented, some people have
looked for some more creative features in their uniform.

Barco has made many happy by launching their Grey's Anatomy line which features
an ultra soft Poly/Spandex blend. This feels so soft on your skin, you
will feel guilty for wearing them to work. It has been such a hit that
there have been entire hospitals choosing Grey's Anatomy scrubs for their staff
even though they are a little more expensive. Dickies then launched their
Black Label line with a similar fabric, and Cherokee has created Cherokee Touch
to fill that same desire for ultra-soft flowing uniforms.

Stretch is
another feature making it's way into the market. Iguana Med was a pioneer
in bringing high tech stretch fabrics into the medical uniform market.
These require a complicated weaving technology to allow stretch in both
directions for a comfortable solution for healthcare workers who are always
moving, bending and lifting. We are an authorized reseller of IguanaMed
scrubs and will be adding them to our website soon. Cherokee has added a
Cherokee Stretch line with a similar fabric to allow maximum freedom of motion.
The spring line of Dickies includes new stretch garments within their Black
Label line.

Move over Character Prints, High Fashion Prints are Here!
Medical Scrub print tops used to just mean cartoon characters and crazy patterns
that make you wonder if you are in Hawaii. While there are times and
places where these fun and boisterous patterns can make people smile, there are
also a new breed of prints making their way to the healthcare industry.
Prints are no longer limited to a simple v-neck tunic. Now they come with
empire waists, all types of fabrics including sheer styles, and cute styling and
feminine lines that make them comparable to a blouse you could wear right to
happy hour after a long shift. There are print scrub tops that can cover
the range from classy and upscale to cute and sexy. Cherokee Studio was
one of the first lines to really bring modern style to printed uniforms.
You can find some really short prints to show off that flat tummy of yours in
the Dickies hip-flip coordinating prints. If you like the traditional
print styles, Cherokee HQ Scrubs make dozens of prints affordable to all in the
widest range of sizes.
